1. Hira Naveed
Information and Technology Graduate

I have just completed my penultimate year studying Actuarial Mathematics & Statistics at Kingston University and this is my sandwich year placement.

I have now been on my placement for six months and I am absolutely enjoying every minute of it.

Being part of a fast paced environment and meeting personal targets and the overall aims of the team on tight deadlines has developed my time management skills.

The NHS will be the perfect blend for my interests and passion and this opportunity has invigorated me to explore different career paths.

I have gained so much usable knowledge and relevant skills, making me more confident and courageous with my abilities.

Hira has now returned to complete her final year of her degree- we wish her all the best!

2. Joshua Afun
Contracting Officer Graduate

What I liked about the Graduates into Health programme was the constant learning of how the NHS operates. I was not aware of how huge and complex the NHS is.

I worked in the contracting department which enabled me to interact with a range of stakeholders.

I have found being part of a multi-disciplinary team most useful.

I was able to experience how each team works together towards a common goal and the challenges that come with each team.

A range of skills are used and gained, particularly project management analytical skills, and relying on own initiative and team work skills.

Joshua has now moved into a permanent position within the contracting team- congratulations!
